Amager Centret

New shops opening in Amager Centret next spring

Construction is still in full swing in the shopping centre Amager Centret. The old parking garage is being replaced with new and more modern parking facilities. In addition, a new circular walkway is being constructed on the first floor, which will create a more natural flow through the centre and make room for several new shops.

Even though construction is only expected to be completed by next spring, Amager Centret can already now reveal some of the new tenants that customers can look forward to visiting. And there's something for everyone; the coffee-lovers, shoppers with a sweet tooth, children and even joggers.

Right in the middle of the centre lies the little courtyard, previously used as a site for waste disposal. This is being transformed into a green urban space, with a number of restaurants and cafes creating a charming city square atmosphere. Visitors can now look forward to getting that caffeine boost with a cup of coffee at the coffee chain Espresso House, which offers a wonderful range of hot and cold drinks with accompanying pastries, sandwiches and salads.

New and delicious eateries
The successful chain Joe & the Juice is also setting up shop in one of Amager Centret's renovated spaces, with its signature cheerful atmosphere, freshly squeezed juice and sandwiches on the menu. The chain WokShop, describing itself as a Thai canteen, has also found its way to the modernised Amager Centret. The chain’s restaurants are furnished as a state-of-the-art street kitchen, with long tables and serves healthy, fresh and authentic dishes with fresh produce, at prices anyone can afford.

New and exciting shopping opportunities
The Dutch chain Rituals is opening its doors on the ground floor, with a concept targeted at reminding the busy consumer to take some time for themselves. Customers shop amidst spa-like surroundings and with a characteristic Japanese cherry tree at the centre. At Rituals, you can find oils, creams, scrubs and scented candles, primarily for women but also for men, teenagers, babies and even your car.

The online retailer Minifin will also be opening its first physical shop for children (and their parents) selling a wonderful range of products for the nursery as well as baby and children's clothes from popular brands such as Marmar Copenhagen, Angulus, Rosemunde and Petit by Sofie Schnoor.

Finally, local shoppers will not have to travel far anymore to find the perfect pair of running shoes, when The Athlete’s Foot opens the chain’s first shop on Amager. Dedicated to sport and style, The Athlete’s Foot offers a range of sneakers, fashion and accessories from brands like Nike, Adidas, Puma, Reebok, Asics, Jordan, Jason Markk, Converse, New Balance and many others.
