Danske Shoppingcentre are green

Danske Shoppingcentre focus on sustainability and environment-friendly solutions in its 18 centres. We have a goal of being CO2 neutral by 2026.

In its portfolio strategy, Danske Shoppingcentre has environment as a high priority issue. Even though we have already seen good results from implemented energy solutions in our common areas, we continuously try to optimise every centre in different ways for the benefit of the environment and sustainability.

Since 2015, we have completed several energy optimisation projects, which has led to a reduction of annual energy consumption totalling 24 million kWh – equivalent to 4,800 tonnes of CO2 reduced annually with an average current emission factor of 200 g/kWh. This is equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of around 6,000 households.

Energy action gets measurable results!

Since 2015, we have reduced the energy consumption in our common areas by 30%

We have a goal of being CO2 neutral by 2026

Energy Management towards 2024

• Optimisation of cooling and heating systems via CTS

• Minimising idling in lifts and escalators

• Replacement of old lighting with time-controlled LED lighting

Major Energy Projects towards 2024

• DSC is investing in new ventilation and cooling systems in selected centres

• Currently, nine of the shopping centres are equipped with solar cells. Further work on optimisation of solar power in common areas is underway

Award for sustainability

Sustainability prize: The best managed property in Denmark 2018

In 2018, FRB.C was awarded the sustainability prize ’The best managed property in Denmark 2018’. FRB.C was awarded this prize because the building through smart and energy effective measures saves energy which will minimimise the environmental footprint of the property.
