Danske Shoppingcentre are green

Danske Shoppingcentre focus on sustainability and environment-friendly solutions in its 17 centres.

In its portfolio strategy, Danske Shoppingcentre has environment as a high priority issue. Even though we have already seen good results from implemented energy solutions in our common areas, we continuously try to optimise every centre in different ways for the benefit of the environment and sustainability.

We are halfway there!

Since 2015, the energy level has been reduced by 20% in common areas.

Energy measures that create measurable results

• Replacing the existing SRO system with more modern and energy effective systems

• Optimising control of ventilation in shops and in common areas to minimise consumption

• Updating of cooling system, heating system, lighting and escalators to obtain more energy effective solutions

Energy optimisation plan towards 2022

• Our goal is to reduce CO2 emission by 5,000 tons thereby reducing energy consumption by 30-40% in joint installations compared to energy consumption in 2015

• By 2022, more than DKK 100 million will be invested in energy optimisation From 2015 to 2019 we have invested DKK 54 million resulting in 20% savings which is equivalent to a CO2 emission of 2,500 tons

Solar panels instead of fossil fuel
Solar panels have been installed at 9 centres producing a total of approx. 5,700,000 kWh or 20% of total consumption. This positive approach has contributed to reducing use of fossil fuels in the centres

Award for sustainability

Sustainability prize: The best managed property in Denmark 2018

In 2018, FRB.C was awarded the sustainability prize ’The best managed property in Denmark 2018’. FRB.C was awarded this prize because the building through smart and energy effective measures saves energy which will minimimise the environmental footprint of the property.
